My draw absolutely dropped when I opened my email and saw the page Lita created for this prompt. Her use of collage techniques to build this page gives the eye so much to see. How about that lucky number 13? :) I love that Lita included it with her message about life as a gamble and making your own luck.
Miss Thang didn't give me a list of supplies, so if you're curious about anything on the page just let me know and I'll give you her personal cell number so you can call her at all hours of the night. haha Of course, if you called Lita in the middle of the night, you'd probably catching her working on a page for NEXT week's prompt already.
Now, y'all know I work digitally most of the time. I considered tackling this page in my actual art journal, but I'm really struggling with my personal style lately so I spent a few hours (yes, hours) in Photoshop instead. I wanted to use tags as journal spots to capture what's going on in my life right now.
I'm so glad I use ACDSee to organize and "tag" (hehe get it?) my digital files and Anna's Credit Tracker for posting page credits, because I pulled morsels for this page from all over the place. I won't bother you with the details here, but my Flickr page has all the details if you need them.
Lita and I hope you can take a little tag inspiration from us to use in your journals this week. Please link us up to your blog or gallery to show us what you're creating, and we'll see you back here next week's prompt.

Hi guys, and welcome to the first Art Squared prompt from myself and Jaimie! This week, we’d like to challenge you to create an art journal page using song lyrics as your inspiration.
This is such a versatile prompt – journal about what you’re currently listening to, a song that has special meaning, lyrics that speak to you, or even journal about the music that gets you up and dancing!
Each week, Jaimie and I will share our interpretation of the challenge, and hopefully inspire you to play along. Jaimie’s 100% digital creation has absolutely blown me away. The colour, the design and most of all the message, are just amazing! It’s pages like these that make me itch to try my hand at digital art journalling!
Supply List: Printed Poppies Paper Pack by Sissy Sparrows; Painted Borders by Studio Flergs; Grunged Edges by Jen Wilson Designs; Punk Junque by Rhonna Ferrar; Bad Sewing Machine - Doodle Me Straight by Traci Reed; Scrapadex Cards by Jen Wilson Designs; She Journals Wordart by Tangie Baxter; Free As A Bird by Jenn Barrette; Edgers 01 by Chere Kay; Parcel 06 - Definitions by Tangie Baxter; Parcel 30 - Gesso Textures by Tangie Baxter; Bad Sewing Machine - Wonked by Traci Reed; Believe Me You Are Beautiful by Jenn Barrette; Fleur de Jardin by Jenn Barrette, Krystal Hartley, Mari Koegelenberg, Heather Roselli; Renewed Spirit by Agnes Biro & Yellow Butterfly;
My page this week features adapted lyrics from Grey St by Dave Matthews Band. I’ve gone the traditional, messy route and layered on lots of painty goodness.

I hope this prompt, and our resulting journal entries, will help kick start your creativity. Be sure to play along, and link us up to your creations via the comment section here on the blog. We can’t wait to see what your creations!
