Prompt 4: Change

Hello out there! We're a little late bringing you the next prompt, but I have to admit that it's all my fault. But know that we're trying to get our momentum here, and we'll get there eventually.

Lita chose the prompt "change" for this post and I knew right away what I wanted to create. But first, let me show you her entire page. You've seen a sneak peek, but you really need to take in the whole thing to see how beautiful it is. I LOVE the colors she used and that she included a photo. And would you look at the the stitching! - it just add that little extra something. The quote...well, it speaks volumes about the journey of life we're all on, doesn't it?

supplies: vintage dictionary text, paper doily, black cotton, hambly transparency
gesso, adirondack colour wash spray - lettuce, sei tumble tie dye spray - yellow, grass green, turqoise, flowers - prima, kaisercraft, vintage flash card, kaisercraft alpha stickers, string

I've seen the quote, "without change there would be no butterfly" before and it's always stuck with me. That a beautiful butterfly evolves from something as icky as a catepillar is simply amazing to me. It kind of goes along with the quote that Lita used above doesn't it? The butterfly is nowhere near what it once was.

Quick, while Jaimie's not looking...

Apologies for the lack of posts around here lately - I've had creative block and was holding things up :/
It's Jaimie's turn to post this next prompt, but while she's not looking (ie sleeping hehehe) I thought I'd pop in and post a quick little sneak at my creation for it. She should be posting the prompt soon, but for now, take a peek!

Happy arting!

Prompt #3 - Letter to a Younger You

Lita here with this weeks prompt (can we just pretend it's Monday and that I posted this on time? Please?) Jaimie is the mastermind behind this prompt and whoa, it was a doozie for me!

I absolutely love Jaimie's creation this week. Her journaling hit home to me and of course, the way she has showcased it on the page is just gorgeous - I love her colour choices!

As always, I've pulled out the paints for my spread, and enjoyed every mess filled moment! There are so many layers to this one, and so many supplies used...THAT part I loved, but man, the journaling was hard for me this week. My younger self would really have benefited from what I know now lol
Do me a favour and pretend you can't see the pencil lines that I still need to erase...k?

Supplies:
Liquitex gesso, Ranger paint dabbers in Butterscotch & Pool, Jenni Bowlin dabber in Seed Packet, Jenni Bowlin butterfly stamp, Heidii Swapp circle stamps, punchinella, book text, Crafters Workshop poppies stencils, Pilot Permaball, Faber Castell Big Brush india ink pen.

I hope our creations this week have given you a creative boost and prompted you to write a letter to your younger self. We'd love for you to play along, so be sure to link us up in the comments if you do!

Happy arting!
