Prompt: Confidence

Hello again, Melita here bringing you our newest prompt!

Art Squared Prompt: Confidence

This weeks prompt is courtesy of yours truly. I’ve been trying to step outside my comfort zone more than I normally would, but my confidence has taken a bit of a beating recently. I really want/need to boost my confidence back up again, but must admit it’s not been easy. So, what better subject for this weeks prompt, right?

Here’s Jaimie’s stunning creation, as always

I chose a canvas again this week – this was a message I wanted to keep in sight, so a canvas to hang in my studio was the perfect solution.

Prompt 5: Maps

After weeks of no creative mojo whatsoever, I am finally able to bring you Prompt #5! Woot! Jaimie chose the prompt this time around, and I’m not gonna lie, I struggled. I actually completed a couple of journal spreads, but ended up obscuring the maps almost completely lol What can I say, I like to layer!

Art Squared - Prompt 5: Maps

As usual, Jaimie has outdone herself with her digi goodness. I love her blending here, the restrained use of embellishments, and of course that quote. So perfect!

For my interpretation, I decided to go with a canvas, and a quote that I really need to keep in sight. I had a lot of fun with this, it felt good to really create again. If you’d like to see step by step pics of it’s creation, be sure to head over to my blog HERE.

Prompt 4: Change

Hello out there! We're a little late bringing you the next prompt, but I have to admit that it's all my fault. But know that we're trying to get our momentum here, and we'll get there eventually.

Lita chose the prompt "change" for this post and I knew right away what I wanted to create. But first, let me show you her entire page. You've seen a sneak peek, but you really need to take in the whole thing to see how beautiful it is. I LOVE the colors she used and that she included a photo. And would you look at the the stitching! - it just add that little extra something. The quote...well, it speaks volumes about the journey of life we're all on, doesn't it?

supplies: vintage dictionary text, paper doily, black cotton, hambly transparency
gesso, adirondack colour wash spray - lettuce, sei tumble tie dye spray - yellow, grass green, turqoise, flowers - prima, kaisercraft, vintage flash card, kaisercraft alpha stickers, string

I've seen the quote, "without change there would be no butterfly" before and it's always stuck with me. That a beautiful butterfly evolves from something as icky as a catepillar is simply amazing to me. It kind of goes along with the quote that Lita used above doesn't it? The butterfly is nowhere near what it once was.

supplies: Fleur de Jardin by Jenn Barrette, Krystal Hartley, Mari Koegelenberg, Heather Roselli; Renewed Spirit by Agnes Biro & Yellow Butterfly; Grunged Edges by Jen Wilson Designs; Doily Print Brushes by Just Jaimee; Gesso Messy 03 by Tangie Baxter; English Rose by Captivated Visions; Fingerpaint Frenzy by CD Muckosky; A Way of Life Overlays by Captivated Visions; Newspapers by Tangie Baxter; Messy Paints by Amy Martin; Get Creative Paint by Nancie Rowe Janitz;

I hope you've enjoyed our pages for this prompt and that if you choose to play, you'll come back and link us up to your page in the comments. Until then, happy art journaling…whether your'e getting messy with paint and glue, or going digi like me.

xoxo
